Abstract: Abstract Russia has enormous energy resource potentialities in the world. So far as hydrocarbon resources are concerned, in global terms the share of Russia is about 10–12 pc of oil and one-third natural gas. Russia with about 30–32 pc of proven natural gas reserves overtakes other energy rich countries–Iran 15 pc, Qatar 7 pc, Saudi Arabia and the UAE each 4 pc and the USA and Algeria each about 3 pc. Huge domestic energy resource potentialities provided a basis for Russia to emerge as a major energy power. Hence the objective of this paper is to examine how Russia has been trying to ‘Emerge’ as Energy Super Power and how Russia can facilitate energy security of India.
