A chapter in Financing Agriculture Value Chains in India, 2017, pp 15-32 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract In this paper, we conduct a systematic review of agricultural value chain financing with its different forms. In particular, we assess how the choice of the financing mode varies by the nature of the value chains itself. The choices are related to both internal as well as external financing. We present some real-world examples of value chain financing and try to identify the innovative elements in them. The study is done in the context of smallholder-based systems with low asset base and greater vulnerability to shocks.
