Chapter Chapter 3 in India’s Producer Companies and Small Farmers, 2024, pp 51-70 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract This chapter examines the processes and models of organisation and promotion of PCs in the light of policy thrust on promotion of such entities on a large scale with public funding support. Based on empirical evidence from four PCs promoted by two different RIs/POPIs in Rajasthan, it assesses the physical and financial performance and member impact of these PCs and points out the lacunae in the process and design of the very initiative which led to almost failure or suboptimal performance of the PCs.
