Chapter Chapter 8 in Health Care Benchmarking and Performance Evaluation, 2014, pp 121-137 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract The DEA field has grown tremendously during the past three decades. In addition to the most frequently used models presented in this book, there are other models of DEA. These more specific models provide solutions to specific conditions and also they provide advancement to basic models. We will briefly describe them here, and the interested reader can further inquire from the following texts listed in the references: Cooper et al. (2007) and Zhu (2009). We will demonstrate super-efficiency and congestion DEA methods below, which can be applied to problems in health care organizations. We will also extend the discussion to network and dynamic DEA models that have been recently added to the DEA arsenal. We will conclude the chapter with multistage applications of DEA including bootstrapping.
