Chapter 19 in Multi-Criteria Decision Making with Partial Preference Information, 2026, pp 415-433 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract This chapter addresses how the FITradeoff method can be applied for aiding Group Decision Making (GDM) processes. More specifically, the focus is on Multicriteria Group Decision Making (MCGDM) situations, which consists of problems in which multiple DMs should reach a final decision among multiple alternatives that are evaluated on conflicting criteria. A background on MCGDM with partial preference information is given in this chapter, as well as an overview of different aggregation types in GDM. Then, different possibilities for conducting the preferences modeling of the group members are presented: simultaneous elicitation and separate elicitation. The process of reaching an agreement based on the analysis of potentially optimal alternatives and individual rankings is widely discussed. In addition, other features that can be applied for aiding the group decision process with FITradeoff are presented, such as the use of indicators and decision rules, or aggregation of DMs.
