Abstract: Abstract Mindfulness-based interventions have been widely recognized for their positive influence on psychological well-being across various demographics. This study examines the efficacy of a mindfulness-based intervention in enhancing the mental well-being of tribal adolescent girls in India. We recruited participants from a residential school for tribal girls and assessed their levels of gratitude, hope, and subjective happiness using validated questionnaires before and after the intervention. The experimental group received a mindfulness-based intervention between the pre-test and post-test phases. The 14-day (two-week) intervention included daily mindfulness practice and mindfulness journaling, each lasting 20 min. Results showed substantial improvements in gratitude, hope, and subjective happiness scores in the experimental group, whereas no such improvements were observed in the control group. These findings underscore the potential of mindfulness-based interventions to enhance the well-being of adolescent girls from tribal communities in India. Integrating mindfulness practices into school environments could foster the development of tribal adolescents and help break the cycle of vulnerability and marginalization.
