Abstract:
Abstract The present paper intends to contribute to the literature on knowledge management by investigating the dynamics involving companies and workers, through an analysis of workers’ perception with respect to the digitization of working methods, looking at both the organizational solutions implemented by companies and the emotional impact on the worker. In particular, the study aims at answer to three research questions, namely, (1) employees’ perception of self-management skills in remote work; (2) workers’ satisfaction with respect to the enhancement of skills; and (3) emotional impact of remote work. After performing the literature review and defining an interpretative model, the empirical analysis was carried out through a survey. The results of the study show that aspects such as workers’ age, their ability to use digital and technological instruments, and the place where they work are the main factors affecting their reaction to the digital transformation of work procedures due to the pandemic crisis.
