Chapter 8 in Managing Learning Enterprises, 2024, pp 131-136 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract The eighth chapter, titled “Challenges of Team Learning” from the second part of the book Managing Learning Enterprises, titled “Challenges of Implementing a Learning Enterprise” begins by describing teamwork as a response to the challenges and complexity of modern work, but points out that the majority of work is group work and not teamwork. However, it emphasizes that individuals in learning organizations are able to self-organize and form teams when complementary knowledge is needed, leading to integrative solutions based on synergy and inclusive solutions. However, the key to teamwork in learning organizations is team learning, which is also one of the learning disciplines and forms the basis for organizational learning based on shared critical thinking and sense-making. The chapter concludes with an examination of the challenges of virtual teamwork and team learning.
