Chapter Chapter 3 in Fair Revenue Sharing Mechanisms for Strategic Passenger Airline Alliances, 2013, pp 31-41 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract The aim of this chapter is to review particularly the alliances in the passenger airline industry and to position our study within the previous literature. Section 3.1 presents a general introduction to strategic alliances. Section 3.2 discusses the motivations behind the formation of passenger airline alliances and presents an extensive survey on research in this area. The survey gives special attention to the studies concerning revenue sharing and capacity management problems faced by the passenger airline alliances. Finally, Sect. 3.3 provides a review on the research considering the revenue sharing problem in strategic alliances apart from the passenger airline industry.
