Abstract:
Abstract The “Learning with Attention” project at Hannover Medical School aims to implement a digital treatment option based on metacognitive therapy for the psychological support of patients with acute heart disease. To this end, a mobile application is being developed that pays particular attention to the aspects of user-friendliness and motivation through the integration of gamification elements. The article first introduces the basics of mHealth and gamification. This is followed by a selection of suitable implementation methods. Here, health methods are integrated into the user-centered design process, taking into account a gamification framework for mHealth. As part of the work, an initial prototype for the application’s user interface was created, which is to be implemented and evaluated as an executable mobile health application in a follow-up project.
