Abstract: Abstract The turbulent environment in which organizations operate requires to effectively manage information. Previous studies highlight that the quantity of digital information is rapidly increasing and it requires to be effectively stored and managed. Data compression methods represent a possible solution for facing these issues. Through conducting an experiment based on the exchange of compressed data, we offer managerial insights useful for a more effective and efficient data management.
