Chapter Chapter 7 in Applications of Operational Research in Business and Industries, 2023, pp 101-113 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract This paper presents a single-producer single-retailer integrated policy for deteriorating items considering three-stage deterioration. This study considers three-stage deterioration of products during each phase of the supply system, such as production, retail, and transportation. The objective of this research is to obtain an optimal number of deliveries, lot size, and replenishment period to minimize the total integrated cost of the supply chain. In this paper, demand rate and deterioration rate are assumed deterministic and constant. The output of this study shows that the integrated approach is much more effective to fulfill the purpose as compared to the independent approach. To conclude the results, a numerical experiment and sensitivity analysis are performed.
