Abstract:
Abstract Since the first genetically modified (GM) crops were grown in 1996, agricultural biotechnology adoption has continued to increase around the world. From foundation traits like herbicide tolerance and insect resistance to more complex products with stacked and novel traits, research and adoption of GM crops is increasing, as are the number of products available on the market and the benefits to farmers, consumers, and the environment. Today, there are roughly 30 commercialized products on the market; it is estimated that there will be a three- to four-fold increase in the number of commercialized biotech products available to farmers in the coming years.
