Abstract: Abstract Condition-based maintenance is analyzed for multi-stage production with a separate maintenance unit. Deterioration depends on multiple production para-meters, and maintenance has to keep up predefined operational availabilities per production stage. Two problems are of interest: Determining machine conditions that require a release of preventive maintenance jobs, and scheduling maintenance jobs of different production stages. Considering continuous condition monitoring, a specific priority rule for scheduling is developed, factors determining the release situation are operationalized and effects of choosing the triggering condition are identified. The performance of the priority rule and a stochastic approach to determine optimal triggering conditions are analyzed by simulations.
