Abstract: Abstract Public value creation is the new lens for analyzing smart cities. Based on participative governance models, local governments in smart cities must provide the tools and context to foster citizen engagement in public decisions and co-creation of public services. All this have to be addressed to increase the quality of life of citizens in their urban life. So, technological advances implemented in city governments should provide an ideal frame to support the engagement and participation of citizens in the city life. Researches included into the book are clear examples of this issue.
