Abstract:
Abstract The article describes individual assumptions underlying ITS, the scope of its application as well as advantages resulting from its deployment in the city space. It also provides characterisation of S-mile Visualizer Tool, its structure as well as data collection and storage standards. Data processing mechanisms and data presentation technologies embedded in the tool have been defined with reference to interactive thematic maps. The author has indicated individual options for supporting ITS with a data set obtained from the S-mileSys platform being currently under development, under the ERA-NET Transport III programme.
