Abstract: Abstract In recent years, the High-Speed Rail (HSR) in China has continued to thrive rapidly with the development of China’s booming economy, and it has become the preferred mode of transportation for many travelers. This paper investigates the stochastic process of security inspection for passengers in the high-speed rail stationRail station . A queuing model is developed for studying the proposed security-check system via computer simulation. In the numerical experiments, we illustrate the influence of varying model parameters on the average waiting time and safety level of the queuing systemQueuing system . The sensitivity analysis of our simulation model could contribute to improve the service level and efficiency on security check before implementing operation plans for high-speed rail stations.
