Abstract:
Abstract Seasonality of revenues from the sales of tickets in public transport is a complex phenomenon due to the specificity of the analyzed services. Most pronounced are the changes that take place in the summer season, and they are determined by the nature of the city. This report discusses the levels of revenues from tickets for one of the best known Polish cities associated with overnight tourism – the city of Zakopane. Analysis of the variability of revenue from monthly, weekly and single use tickets was performed on the basis of data provided by the Zakopane City Hall. With the use of simulation, a discussion was carried out on the possibility of increasing the revenues from tickets with the minimum of a concomitant retaining of the number of passengers.
