Chapter Chapter 14 in Post-Pandemic Realities and Growth in Eastern Europe, 2022, pp 235-255 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract Since the outbreak of the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, tourism has gone through significant changes as the free movement became difficult due to travel restrictions, the operating of the supply-side having been made extremely difficult as a result of these restrictions, and the demand-side’s and tourists’ fear of the pandemic. The hierarchy of values has changed, the role of free time seems to become more and more important, similarly to that of free movement, and reliability, trustworthiness, quality services, and safe destinations have become significant criteria. The present study has three cornerstones, as it examines the role of trust, uncertainty, and their effect on decision-making in tourism in light of the security measures introduced following the outbreak.
