Abstract:
Abstract This article focuses on the topical issues of increasing the University’s competitiveness in a digital economy, and on implementing a process in educational, innovative, and research-scientific activity of the departments and institutes, increasing the departments’ efficiency. This leads to increasing the efficiency level of domestic universities and to the possibility of forming new sustainable benefits of certain departments, as part of the University’s business process. Institutional processes in an educational organization include structural, educational, controlling, technological, financial, scientific, social, and other managements’ actions. Implementing an organizational-economic mechanism to the process of monitoring complex activity of the departments will lead to qualitative shift in educational characteristics, thus forming the department’s stable position as a business-unit on service delivery, and also on University’s competitiveness comparatively to its competitors. As a result of the research, an organizational-economic model of assessing departments’ complex activity as University’s business unit has been developed. The mechanism lets one formulate an accurate ranking of the departments at university, it also ensures the increase level in the programmes’ and scientific products’ competitiveness. This will allow providing market orientation in educational and scientific activity, satisfying customers.
