Abstract:
Abstract This research aims to explore public expenditure on education and the relationship between expenditure and corruption in Greece through the use of a nonparametric statistical analysis method. Statistical data were retrieved using a nonparametric statistical analysis technique, namely, Spearman’s method. In this research, the theoretical framework is first presented, and then Spearman’s method of analysis is used in order to draw conclusions about the correlation of the quantities between them. The chronological series of the data included the years 2001–2019 as they were available for processing at the time. An analysis of public expenditure data in primary, secondary, and higher education in relation to both total expenditure and total expenditure due to corruption in Greece was performed. Finally, conclusions were drawn regarding the correlation of the dimensions examined in the research and the need for investments in education for future economic development.
