Chapter Chapter 71 in Applied Economic Research and Trends, 2024, pp 1241-1247 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract In this chapter the destination life cycle and product life cycle frameworks are used to develop an overall mathematical model to determine the different stages of the tourist product offered by Greece through time. An Ordinary Differential Equation (ODE) will be used, and its solution will be fitted to a long time series data (1955–2019) from tourist arrivals in Greece. Then using simple calculus, the five different periods of the Greek tourist product, i.e., exploration, involvement, development, consolidation, and stagnation, have been identified.
