Abstract:
Abstract In this paper, the instance of Greek tourism was examined by analyzing the figures that characterize Greek tourism and the factors that contribute to its growth. The comprehensive examination of the characteristics and technologies of those contributing to its digitization and improvement over time was emphasized. To accomplish the objectives, the work began with an introduction to the concept of tourism and a review of its history. In addition, the categories of tourism were discussed, with an emphasis on tourism as a product that contributes to the growth of the economy. It was determined which technologies contribute to the digitization and promotion of Greek tourism, as well as its challenges in the new reality. Then, as a case study, the Greek tourism industry, its dimensions over time, and the new technologies that contribute to its digitization and promotion were examined. It was discovered that, thanks to new technologies, Greek tourism is in an excellent position to effectively meet the new challenges of the post-COVID era.
