Abstract: Abstract The article outlines a possible approach to rethinking the corporate strategy of large companies in the context of ESG requirements. The methodological basis of the research is the systematization of the principal directions in which the results of studying corporate strategies are presented in scientific papers over the past 5 years, and identification of gaps in the general process of forming an idea about the features of corporate strategies of large companies. The ESG requirements for the corporate strategy of large companies are described. As a result, the main criteria and parameters of the quality of corporate strategies, as well as the conditions for ensuring it are formulated. In particular, it is proposed to focus corporate strategy on choosing areas for business diversification. The scientific novelty of the results obtained lies in the development of the strategic management theory in terms of determining the nature of modern competition and its impact on the strategy development in a large company. It is concluded that a new approach to the corporate strategy formation will help to achieve the strategic vision, intentions, and goals of a company and will ensure the protection of the rights and interests of participants in corporate relations.
