Abstract:
Abstract This study aims to assess the research productivity of Greek research universities and analyze the factors influencing productivity for the academic year 2021–2022. Data envelopment analysis was made by using VRS. Publications and citations used are data from the Web of Science Core Collection (Web of Science, 2024) and were gathered for 23 universities (HAHE Annual Reports, 2022). Among the 23 universities, only six were found to be efficient in terms of research productivity. This study identifies potential areas for enhancing university efficiency, emphasizing the need for improvements in publication quality and productivity. Analysis highlights the positive impact of the academic staff on research efficiency.
