Abstract:
Abstract In Vietnam, the One Commune One Product program is being promoted nationwide to develop the rural economy, restructure the economy, and increase income for people. Specifically, the Mekong Delta region is actively investing in developing OCOP products for consumption in the domestic market and, especially, for export to international markets. However, the process of commercializing OCOP products in foreign markets is facing many difficulties and obstacles. Through semi-structured interviews, the primary data collected by the research group, which conducted descriptive statistics and in-depth analysis of 40 businesses and 5 experts from 13 provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta region, revealed 15 export barriers arising from internal and external factors of businesses, varying across three stages: pre-export, trial export, and expanded export. Based on the analysis and evaluation, along with proposed strategic solutions, the research group has provided solutions to overcome barriers and enhance the export volume of OCOP products in the Mekong Delta region. Additionally, it has been discovered that climate change is a new factor that previous studies have not addressed, deeply impacting OCOP businesses, especially agricultural enterprises.
