Abstract:
Abstract This study explores the transformative impact of digital technologies on cultural institutions, focusing on how these innovations enhance visitor engagement and experience. By integrating augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), mobile applications, websites, and social media, cultural organizations can offer dynamic, interactive experiences that extend beyond their physical locations. The research utilizes survey data from 124 participants to analyze perceptions and behaviors regarding digital media in cultural contexts. Findings reveal that AR and VR significantly boost visitor engagement, learning, and emotional connections. Mobile apps and websites increase accessibility and inclusivity, allowing for personalized and global reach. However, challenges such as financial constraints, lack of staff training, and digital divide issues impede effective digital transformation. Concerns over digital security and data privacy must also be addressed to maintain public trust. The study emphasizes the need for strategic planning, sufficient resources, and a user-centered approach to successfully integrate digital media into cultural institutions. Balancing digital innovation with the preservation of authentic cultural experiences can lead to greater sustainability, accessibility, and relevance in a digitally connected world.
