A chapter in Transformational Trends in Finance, Banking, and Economics, 2025, pp 153-165 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract In this study, the MARCOS method was used to evaluate the financial performance of businesses in the tourism sector. Based on the sources in the literature, financial ratios were used to calculate businesses’ financial structures and statements. The ENTROPY method was used to determine the weights of the criteria. The MARCOS method is a multi-criteria decision-making method used to evaluate the financial performance of businesses. This method obtains results by analyzing the relationship between existing alternatives and reference values. For the study period, financial data in 2022 was used on an annual basis. As a result of the study, it was concluded that the company with the best performance for 2022 among the businesses operating in the tourism sector is the company with the code MARTI. It has been determined that the company with the worst performance for 2022 is the company with the code MAALT.
