Abstract: Abstract Leadership in the healthcare system is not merely important—it is vital to an organization’s success. There is now broad acknowledgment that effective leadership among healthcare professionals is indispensable in contemporary healthcare settings. This necessity is primarily driven by the imperative to enhance the quality of healthcare delivery. In this context, leadership styles are essential in driving improvements in healthcare quality standards. The main objective of this study is to identify the influence of leadership styles—Authoritarian, Transformational, Transactional and Laissez-Faire—on the performance of Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technicians (DTTs), assessed by the DTTs’ perception of the leadership style of their hierarchical superiors and their performance. A quantitative study was carried out by applying a questionnaire to DDT from 7 hospitals and 358 questionnaires were validated. The proposed model was tested using the linear equation modeling technique. The results indicate that: (i) Transformational Leadership and Laissez-Faire have a positive and direct effect on the job performance (ii) Transactional leadership does not have a positive and direct effect on the job performance (iii) Authoritarian leadership has a negative and direct effect on the job performance. This study provides insights into the relationships between leadership styles and DTTs job performance and is expected to guide future interventions designed to enhance the relationship between leaders and those they lead, especially in the DTTs professions.
