A chapter in Empowering Digital Transformation, 2025, pp 11-24 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract This research delves into the dimensions of digital evolution highlighting the importance of fostering a culture that values innovation, adaptability and continual progress. Additionally, it delves into Corporate Sustainability and Responsibility (CSR) concepts and explores how they intersect with evolution. The above aim to explore the intersection of digital evolution and CSR, examining how emerging digital technologies impact sustainable corporate strategies. The study emphasizes the challenges and opportunities that organizations face when they embed digital technology into their sustainability initiatives. This research is based on: a) a systematic literature review and b) a conceptual analysis of recent academic and industry sources. It combines vital conclusions from academic articles, case studies and reports, in order to provide a structured perspective on the growing relationship between Digital Transformation (DT) and CSR. The study identifies specific core areas in which DT is positively affecting CSR and it also highlights concerns and challenges that are associated with the incorporation of DT in CSR initiatives. It aims to contribute to the existing discussion of two important areas, the DT and the CSR and most importantly, to the rising discussion of the intersection of these two areas, by adding an investigation of the effect of DT on CSR.
