Abstract:
Abstract This study aims to analyse the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on the labour market. Digital transformation presents both challenges and opportunities that are widely discussed. It is emphasised that routine and medium-demanding jobs are becoming increasingly scarce. However, the demand for specialised skills related to AI, robotics and related fields is increasing. The study raises the issue of the uneven global distribution of the effects of digital transformation. Developed countries are adapting their labour markets more easily. Developing countries, however, are facing a development gap. The consequences are evident in the deepening of global inequality. Therefore, if the world wants to transition to a socially just digital society, it will be necessary to establish proactive policies that promote lifelong learning, ethical regulation of AI, and inclusive development. The key finding of the study is that only responsible governance, which incorporates the inclusion of all stakeholders, can ensure that the path of digital transformation is followed to achieve sustainable and just social development while simultaneously reducing the deepening of social and economic disparities.
