Chapter 1 in Challenges and Innovation Opportunities in the Context of Sustainability, Industries 4.0 and 5.0, 2026, pp 1-6 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract The International Conference on Quality Innovation and Sustainability (ICQIS) began in the north of Portugal, in the city of Valença. The main goal was to bring together academics and practitioners from a variety of fields to disseminate knowledge and exchange good practices in the main domain of quality management, as well as innovative practices and sustainability. In 2024, the ICQIS event was held in Lisbon, the capital of Portugal. The conference themes, which addressed novel and advanced topics in Sustainability, Quality and Innovation, focused on eight Special Sessions. This successful edition had the participation of twenty-three countries and about one hundred authors. As a result, thirty-four works were chosen to be published in the Springer Books. This book includes seventeen works. This chapter presents a brief history of the ICQIS events, the General Overview, the Outlines, the Acknowledgements and the ICQIS 2024 Committees.
