Abstract: Abstract The complexity of the contemporary world and, above all, the interdependence of the various existing systems of economic and social organization have considerably increased the factors which economic science is obliged to take into account, particularly when it is called upon to provide alternative options for the future. From this perspective, the role of economic science in preventing situations in which the accumulated social tensions cause sudden/abrupt changes in the political, economic and social life becomes dominant, even primordial, and the need for a holistic approach to the economy, which we referred to at the beginning of our intervention, becomes an imperative requirement. Economics remains, at its core, a science of human action, often unpredictable, ideologically influenced and constantly changing, meaning not only development but also, and even, reconsideration.
