Abstract:
Abstract The discourse of sustainability at an international level is not new; however, it represents challenges for different organizations, socio-economic sectors and countries that are committed to a coherent implementation in their practice. This article analyzes in a critical and systemic way the repercussion of this construct in the security and defense sector, which has clear missions in an increasingly uncertain context, to face the changing risks and threats of contemporary times. A qualitative research approach was applied, with a complex approach to analyze the relationships of the constructs under study. It was determined that the multifactorial, complexity, and comprehensiveness of the analysis of these phenomena are current, which must be transferred to the scientific method to address causes, effects, and solutions, within the framework of national and international relations, the interaction of actors, definition of public policy and other mechanisms that allow overcoming obstacles towards sustainable development.
