Abstract:
Abstract Corporate social responsibility has gained significant attention across a wide range of industries. However, limited studies examine this topic in the education sector, particularly focusing on how corporate social responsibility shapes students’ attitudes and behaviours. This research examines the influence of two types of corporate social responsibility (CSR)—External CSR and Internal CSR—on student satisfaction and academic performance. Data collected from 539 university students in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, are used for the empirical analysis. Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) is employed to test the relationships between the variables in the proposed research model. The findings reveal that external CSR and internal CSR are positively and directly associated with satisfaction and academic performance among the students. Furthermore, satisfaction is found to mediate the relationships between the two CSR practices and academic performance. This research highlights the need to include external and internal CSR practices in universities.
