Chapter 6 in Leveraging Emerging Technologies and Analytics for Empowering Humanity, Vol. 1, 2025, pp 119-140 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract In the evolving landscape of agripreneurship in a developing nation like India, data-driven policymaking is emerging as a transformative force for sustainable development, farmer empowerment, and the broader goal of empowering humanity. Leveraging the visualization and self-service analytics functionality of an open government data platform, the National Data and Analytics Platform, this study demonstrates a use case for policymakers and experts. By accessing and merging multiple datasets across different Ministries of the Government, the study identifies critical indicators for promoting agripreneurship. Utilizing comprehensive data, the results reveal the potential of an open government data platform in facilitating data-driven policymaking. Through a strict methodology and interactive visualization at the level of states and districts, this study finds good places to encourage agribusiness by implementing effective data-driven policies. This study underscores the importance of data-driven approaches in crafting policies that support agripreneurial ventures and has broader implications for business and human development in a developing nation. By enhancing food security, rural livelihoods, and economic resilience, the integration of self-service analytics into agricultural policymaking empowers farmers and contributes significantly to the overall development of human society.
