A chapter in Socio-economic Impact of Artificial Intelligence, 2024, pp 199-213 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract The green revolution and digital transformation are interlinked forces driving societal and environmental change. This chapter explores their convergence through the case of Alia Servizi Ambientali, a Tuscan environmental services company. Alia leverages digital technologies to enhance its sustainability initiatives, such as implementing smart waste management systems and a digital tariff scheme. The integration of IoT, data analytics, and advanced IT infrastructure enables Alia to optimize waste collection, reduce costs, and minimize environmental impact. This case demonstrates how digital transformation can amplify green initiatives, offering a model for other organizations seeking to navigate these twin revolutions.
