Abstract: Abstract High quality training of the specialists working in the information sphere has become an important driver in successful development of the economy and the society. Expectations of the employers towards employees’ information competencies are changing simultaneously with the public, social and technological progress. Competence approach focuses at the result of the education gained—a person’s ability to act in various situations. This study about the level of training of economists in the field of information technology in the Russian universities.
