Chapter 7 in Enterprise Resource Planning and Supply Chain Management, 2013, pp 189-220 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract In this chapter, information systems that are closely connected with manufacturing will be described, including manufacturing execution systems and engineering information systems used for the technological preparation of manufacturing and products. Related with these are systems for the management of master data over their life cycle. All these systems are not part of a conventional ERP system, but they have many interfaces with enterprise resource planning.
