Chapter Chapter 1 in Inter-firm Networks, 2023, pp 1-5 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract Firms do not interact only through prices, quantity or quality: many other organizational devices are employed to coordinate their behavior. Despite this evidence, it is still rather unclear under which circumstances the mix of different ways is built, neither the relative relevance of each of them. One of such ways is through sharing a director between boards of related companies: this is the phenomenon named interlocking directorates or, more recently, board interlockBoard interlocks (BINT), known since long, but still deserving a lot of attention. Moreover, two further forms of interlock coordination are extensively used in the EU28 Aerospace Industry and, certainly, in any other industry, though with a varying diffusion and intensity.
