Abstract: Abstract In this article, the approach of transculturality is examined from three culturally reflexive methodological meta-perspectives in order to find out how exactly the commonalities that are so significant for the relational paradigm can be developed. In doing so, it is shown that cultural reflexivity works with three different qualities of knowledge: knowledge as interpretative knowledge, knowledge as ideology permeated with power structures, and constructive nescience. It is argued that transculturality requires all three approaches to create common ground in concrete groups by using interpretative, deconstructive, and constructivist activities. The example of listening is used in each case to illustrate how to make use of these resources.
