Chapter 1 in Economic Competitiveness, 2026, pp 1-4 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract Regional development is a dynamic field. With the rapid digitization of the economy and a highly connected society, updated frameworks are warranted to better understand opportunities and challenges around a classic regional economic development paradigm: industry clusters. This chapter discusses the outline and the rationale to update industry clusters and their relationship with occupations and skills, knowledge and innovation, and social networks.
