Abstract: Abstract This chapter focuses on the evolution of entrepreneurship studies. From classic approaches to theories that are based on innovation. This chapter addresses the concept of entrepreneurship as a basis for the development of the start-up concept. What were the main approaches used by studies on entrepreneurship and innovation? What were the steps that led scholars to focus on the phenomenon of start-up companies? This chapter also addresses the legislative framework in Italy: “Innovative Start-up.”
