A chapter in Entrepreneurial Education in a Global and Digital World, 2026, pp 17-35 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract This chapter discusses the elements necessary for developing entrepreneurship programs in higher education institutions. The analysis is supported by an empirical case of a Brazilian university, the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS), a community institution with around 13,000 face-to-face students and over 80,000 online students. The elements presented serve as a guide for proposing recommendations for other institutions to develop their entrepreneurial education strategies, from the comprehensive vision of entrepreneur training (intrapreneurship) to business generation (entrepreneurship). The recommendations focus on two main areas: the institutional strategic context for offering entrepreneurial education and the didactic-pedagogical conditions for organizing educational programs related to entrepreneurship. The recommendations can be adapted to the reality of each institution in a gradual process of developing entrepreneurial education programs.
