Chapter Chapter 1 in Global Business in Local Culture, 2018, pp 1-11 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract Apart from providing a basic outline of the book, this introductory chapter discusses the growing polarization in the public discourse on globalization. The discourse is characterized by the bipolar framing of ‘global business’ versus ‘local culture’. It provides meaning and orientation in affluent societies but may not be helpful in efforts to promote inclusive and sustainable growth in low-income countries.
