Chapter Chapter 7 in Global Business in Local Culture, 2018, pp 73-88 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract This chapter illustrates by means of concrete case studies of Swiss-based multinational companies that invest in low-income countries how embedded MNEs contribute to enhanced access to essential human rights. As such they highlight the shortcomings of the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGP) that frame FDI primarily as a potential risk to local human rights.
