Chapter Chapter 1 in Comprehensive Evaluation of Effective Biomass Resource Utilization and Optimal Environmental Policies, 2015, pp 1-18 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract The stockbreeding industry is booming rapidly in rural areas around big cities in China, especially in the rural areas around Beijing, carrying high risk to the environment due to emission of huge amounts of pollutants, such as COD, T-N, and T-P, as well as greenhouse gases into rivers and atmosphere. On the other hand, as typical biomass resource, stockbreeding waste can be used as energy source by advanced technologies. The purpose of our research is to establish effective utilization methods of biomass resource with coordination among resource reutilization, environmental preservation, and economic development, and finally realize the sustainable development of the society. The background, objectives, and methods of this book are introduced, and all the concepts and literature reviews are shown in this chapter.
