Abstract: Abstract This chapter develops the conceptual framework for empirical analysis of the Vietnamese motorcycle industry. The key conceptual apparatuses for exploring the evolution of supplier learning trajectories are the learning events and the two-dimensional matrix for the classification of capabilities. In exploring the sources of supplier capability building, the framework of actor engagement in supplier learning will be utilised to analyse various modes of involvement by key actors in supplier learning.
