Chapter Chapter 3 in Risks in Agriculture, 2017, pp 9-60 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract A detailed discussion of the 18 crops under study—trends in area, produciton and yields—is given in this chapter based on the district level secondary data. Farmers’ explanation for deciding to grow more of a certain crops or giving up the cultivation of certain crops is also given. The risks associated with each crop is calculated and compared with other sample districts as well as with leading nations for these crops. Efficiency of agriculture for the sample regions is reflected by such analysis.
