Chapter Chapter 4 in Risks in Agriculture, 2017, pp 61-84 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract Risks faced by the farmers in the study regions are described in this chapter. Weather based risks are the most prominent, followed by a less discussed factor - animals. Pests and prices turn out to be less damaging compared to these two. The chapter also discusses the attitude and experiences of the farmers regarding the risk proofing measures. The overall picture shows that farmers are struggling alone in the face of such risks.
